Sunshine Coast Private Hospital, QLD
Silver Thomas Hanley in association with PDT Architects was commissioned to provide a schematic proposal for a 200 bed private hospital on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The scheme has the expansion capacity to provide up to 300 beds.
The SCPH is to be co-located with the Sunshine Coast University Hospital on the Kawana campus. In total, the proposal for the site will allow for up to 1200 beds. The design of the facility incorporated inpatient units, allied health, operating suite, intensive care unit, day procedures, diagnostic imaging, GP Clinic and multiple consulting suites.
The focus of the brief was on creating a patient centred healing environment that would meet the needs of the rapidly growing local community; provide inbuilt flexibility for additional beds and services and incorporated key ESD initiatives.
