2014 IADH Awards Finalist
Several Silver Thomas Hanley projects recently made the finalist list for the 2014 International Academy for Design and Health (IADH) Awards.
The Gold Coast University Hospital (PDT+STH+Hassell) and NHS Health Care Complex and Walker Family Cancer Centre, Ontario, Canada (B+H+STH) were finalists in the International Health Project – Over 40,000sqm Category. Projects nominated for this award must meet the following criteria:
Outstanding acute or non-acute healthcare building where patient-centred considerations are as evident as clinical and managerial priorities. The project must demonstrate an understanding of the therapeutic effect of a ‘healing’ environment, and show how innovative design permits ongoing flexibility of use, addresses issues of sustainability and which recognises the broader civic context.
