Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre, Abbotsford, BC Canada

This Greenfield hospital is the first Public Private Partnership (PPP) project for an acute care hospital and cancer centre in Canada. The 300 bed hospital was awarded the North American Project Finance Deal of the year for 2004 and Gold LEED Certification on completion.

The facility was built on time, on budget and within scope. It provides enhanced and specialised health services to more than 150,000 people in the greater Abbotsford area and up to 300,000 people in the Fraser Valley region.

Silver Thomas Hanley in association with Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership in Vancouver, delivered the full design for this project. It includes general acute care, maternity, NICU, cardiac care, palliative pare, emergency, ambulatory care, mental health and a comprehensive cancer care centre for the British Columbia Cancer Agency.

“The BC Cancer Agency’s Abbotsford Centre is a beautiful ‘green’ facility that offers staff a healthy place to work & patients a healing environment.”

Lynda Cranston, President and CEO, Provincial Health Services Authority.
