DELMONT PRIVATE PSYCHIATRIC CARE CENTRE, Glen Iris, VIC

Delmont Private Hospital is an existing acute psychiatric care private hospital in Glen Iris Victoria. The hospital provides a range of psychiatric services including a general inpatient psychiatric service, drug and alcohol and aged psychiatry.

STH was commissioned for a redevelopment of the hospital in 2013 with a brief to add to the existing facility to accommodate growth in the general adult psychiatric care facilities. Works included a new entry, reception and administration for the therapeutic day program area, a new 28 inpatient bed ward extension to the existing inpatient ward, 8 day program rooms and 10 general consulting suites.

The design philosophy was to provide comfortable, uplifting and welcoming interior for the clientele and staff. Artwork and lighting had a special emphasis in the project to create a calming ambience.
