Monash University Department of Paediatrics – Education & Research Precinct at Monash Children’s Hospital, Clayton, VIC
In 2013, STH were appointed to deliver the new 230-bed Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH), designed to be Australia’s third largest children’s hospital. The aim was to provide one coherent public identity for the comprehensive paediatric services provided across several campuses into a new state-of-the-art Children’s Hospital. The new hospital is connected to the existing Monash Medical Centre, integrating tertiary, primary and secondary care for children.
The Education & Research Precinct at MCH was delivered as part of Stage 1 of the project in December 2016, has been designed to accommodate over 100 staff, including Heads of Units, Ambulatory staff, Clinical and Research staff. Facilities include tutorial and education rooms strategically placed throughout the hospital with a mixture of private, collaborative and shared activity hub areas.
The Clinical Trials Unit has been designed with flexibility to allow for future changes to the model of care, clinical procedures and advances in technology.
