The Wesley Hospital, Auchenflower, QLD

The aim of the Wesley Hospital Redevelopment Project was to consolidate the inpatient accommodation by constructing a new 9 storey wing, upgrading the central diagnostic and treatment zone, together with the support service facilities, expanding the car parking and providing additional medical suites and private commercial tenancies.

Stage 1 consisted of multi-level car park providing 483 additional spaces. Stage 2 brought the construction of the inpatient building, providing 150 acute beds; a day surgery; a rehabilitation floor for cardiac rehabilitation and acute/chronic pain management. The top floor is devoted to clinical research featuring facilities for The Wesley Research Institute comprising laboratory, auditorium and conference facilities for clinical education and training, library and office areas.

The project was completed in association with PDT Architects, QLD. PDT-STH have been providing health planning services to The Wesley Hospital since 2006, helping to meet the needs of a rapidly growing population.
