University Hospital Geelong Intensive Care Unit, Geelong, VIC

University Hospital Geelong is a major tertiary hospital in regional Victoria and is currently undergoing a significant redevelopment and expansion of its clinical services. STH were appointed to the project in 2009. The commission commenced with a review of the previous Master Plan, followed by concept design and project delivery.

The first stage of the redevelopment works includes a new 24 bed ICU facility, comprised of 2 x 12 bed pods based on a person centred Model of Care. The unit comprises 100% single rooms for patients, enhanced visibility of patients by staff and dedicated amenities for visitors and relatives.

The ICU facility was officially opened on June 13th 2014 by Premier Denis Napthine, Health Minister David Davis and the CEO of Barwon Health David Ashbridge.
