Warringal Private Hospital, Heidelberg, VIC

Warringal Private Hospital is an acute medical/surgical hospital providing healthcare for the north eastern area of Melbourne. This expansion project for Ramsay Healthcare involved a new ward and theatre block connected to the existing theatres via a new link way.

This new addition features two ward floors housing 64 new private single rooms with ensuites providing an overall total of 215 beds. Silver Thomas Hanley added 5 theatres to the existing facility, yielding a total of 11, along with a new CSSD and a 12 bay recovery unit. An existing day surgery was also refurbished.

Supporting these services is a 4 level, 270 space basement car park (170 new/100 existing). The new development was designed to maximise the use of available land on the difficult and confined sloping site. This expansion was designed to transform Warringal Private into a full service, flagship facility for Ramsay Healthcare.

Redevelopment and expansion works commenced early in 2013 with the project completed on schedule in October 2014.
