Monash Children’s Hospital
Clayton, Victoria
The Monash Children’s Hospital was designed to address the growing demand for specialised paediatric care in Victoria, consolidating services from multiple campuses into a single, state-of-the-art facility. As Australia’s third-largest children’s hospital, it integrates tertiary, primary, and secondary care, ensuring comprehensive and cohesive healthcare delivery for children and adolescents.
The 230-bed facility includes 96 paediatric inpatient beds, 12 cancer day beds, 10 paediatric intensive care (PICU) beds, 30 neonatal intensive care (NICU) cots, and 28 beds for child and adolescent mental health services. Expanded operating theatres, medical imaging, and outpatient facilities further enhance its capacity to meet current and future needs. The hospital’s design prioritises flexibility, allowing for future growth and adaptation to evolving healthcare requirements.

The hospital’s strategic location on the Monash Medical Centre Clayton campus ensures seamless integration with existing services while future-proofing the site for further expansion. By combining advanced medical capabilities with a welcoming, child-friendly environment, the Monash Children’s Hospital sets a new standard for pediatric care, improving outcomes for children and families across Victoria.

“This remarkable new hospital is going to change the lives of so many children here in Victoria. From its design to its services, it is going to ensure children get the best care possible.”
Daniel Andrews, Premier of Victoria
