Responding to site and function

Sustainability was a key priority, with energy-efficient plant rooms, daylight-optimised spaces, and a 4 Star Green Star target reducing environmental impact. The spiraling façade and self-shading atrium minimize wind effects while maximising natural light, creating a welcoming environment for patients and staff.

As a Public-Private Partnership, VCCC sets new benchmarks in healthcare infrastructure, uniting leading institutions to deliver world-class cancer care. Its success in integrating health, education, and research has strengthened Melbourne’s Biomedical Precinct, ensuring long-term advancements in cancer treatment.
