St John of God Berwick Hospital
Berwick, Victoria
Designed to address increasing demand, the hospital introduces 190 new beds, six operating theatres, a cardiac and vascular catheter laboratory, two endoscopy theatres, and six birthing suites. Crucially, it provides the region’s first Intensive Care Unit and a dedicated cardiac unit, filling a critical gap in local healthcare services. The master plan ensures long-term adaptability, with future expansions increasing capacity to 316 beds, 12 theatres, and a dedicated outpatient rehabilitation centre.

The design showcases a folded façade with a café under. The tower is deliberately simple in its form with curtain wall glass, to provide a backdrop to the education hub and canopy.
